Pawprint Chats is a series where we chat with our friends, clients, and peers in our local Colorado community. It’s a chance to check in and see how everyone’s doing, in business and in life.
Today we’re talking to Matthew Diff, General Manager of Cenco Roofing. Together with his team, Matthew has been raising roofs (and roofing standards) in the Denver area for ten years – and giving back locally in the process.
YellowDog is lucky to have Cenco Roofing as a print client for over eight years. We’ve worked together on the layout and production of banners, yard signs, contracts, business cards, and more.
YellowDog: Hello, Matthew! Give us the “elevator pitch” version of what your business does.
Matthew Dirr: Cenco Roofing provides peace of mind through roofing solutions. We are locally owned, employ locally, source locally, and invest locally. We employ 20 people year-round, contribute several million dollars annually to the local economy, and contribute 2% of our top-line revenue to charity every year. We have successfully helped over 3,000 customers to solve their home issues through roofing repairs and roof replacements.
YD: What has been your biggest win in the past year?
MD: As we celebrate 10 years in business in 2023, we survived and thrived by not going “virtual” but instead safely and professionally meeting our customers’ needs outside their homes. It has allowed us to continue to provide peace of mind throughout the years, throughout the pandemic and beyond.
YD: What has been one of your proudest moments as a local business manager?
MD: We believe in supporting the community that makes our business possible. That is why, in conjunction with our charitable partners, we have been able to complete 67 no-cost roof repairs or replacements for non-traditional customers over the last 10 years.
YD: If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about your business, what would it be?
MD: To protect customers and the local market, we wish there were more stringent licensing requirements for both companies and crews. Cenco was the 1st roofing company in the state of Colorado to certify our crews through the National Roofing Contractor’s Association (NRCA) because we believe investing in our employees and crews is the best way to ensure quality workmanship for our customers.
YD: Describe your brand in three words.
MD: Certified, Transparent, Customer-driven
