Custom stickers FAQ
What types of stickers does YellowDog offer?
We offer several types of custom stickers and labels:
- Die-Cut Stickers: Individually cut to the shape of your design (no extra backing). These are durable, waterproof, and perfect for swag, water bottles, laptops, bumper stickers, and more.

- Kiss-Cut Stickers: Cut through the vinyl layer only, so the paper backing remains intact. Great for creating sticker sheets, bundles, or sets with multiple designs.

- Roll-Cut Stickers: Delivered on a continuous roll, making them easy to peel and apply. Best for high quantity runs used for product labeling, packaging, or sealing.

- Paper Stickers: Available as pre-cut label sheets in a variety of sizes or custom-cut crack-and-peel paper labels. They’re great for temporary name tags, envelope seals, or tissue paper closures. A great option for cost-effective indoor use.

- Die-Cut Stickers: Individually cut to the shape of your design (no extra backing). These are durable, waterproof, and perfect for swag, water bottles, laptops, bumper stickers, and more.
Can you print different versions of my sticker design in the same order?
Yes! If you need multiple versions of a sticker—such as different flavors, SKUs, or seasonal designs—we can print them together as long as they’re the same size, shape, and material. This is often referred to as “versioning.” Let us know how many versions you have and how many of each you need, and we’ll help you determine the most efficient way to produce them.
What’s the best sticker type for my project?
There are a lot of options for sticker and label printing, so if you can provide the use case for your project, your account manager can help you decide the best option. Sharing details like where the stickers will be used (indoor or outdoor), what they’ll be applied to (packaging, bottles, windows, laptops, etc.), whether they need to be waterproof or writable, and how many versions or sizes you need will help us guide you to the right material, cut type, and quantity for your needs.
How should I prepare my file for sticker printing?
Submit your design as a vector-based PDF file. We can also accept 300 DPI PNG or JPEG files, but you must indicate the size of the sticker or label when requesting a quote. If your sticker has a custom shape, include a cut line layer to indicate where you want it trimmed. We can also help set this up if you need guidance.
What’s the difference between stickers and cut vinyl?
Cut vinyl stickers are made differently from traditional printed stickers. Instead of printing your design onto a material, we cut it directly from colored vinyl, then “weed” away the excess and apply a layer of transfer tape for easy installation. These are often used for window lettering, store hours, or minimalist designs where only the vinyl itself remains on the surface.
Cut vinyl stickers have minimum size and line width requirements and must be set up as vector artwork. They’re a great choice for clean, professional applications, but may not be ideal for highly detailed or small designs.
What’s the turnaround time for custom stickers?
Turnaround depends on the sticker type and quantity:
- Die-cut, kiss-cut, and paper stickers: Typically ready in 5–7 business days.
- Roll-cut stickers: May take 7–10 business days due to larger volumes and setup. Rush service is available—just let us know your deadline!
