Period Positive Hygiene Drive

Join us in promoting period positivity and ending period poverty in honor of this Women’s History Month! YellowDog will be collecting menstrual hygiene supplies from March 1 – 31, 2024 to be donated to Peak Period CO. and distributed to Clayton Cares Market in our very own Clayton neighborhood.

Why? Period poverty is the inability to afford or access menstrual products, affecting the basic needs of women, transgender and non-binary individuals. Lack of essential supplies can force menstruating individuals to miss work and school. We believe no one should have to choose between buying groceries or menstrual supplies. Every donation helps to offset this burden, supporting our neighbors in living their fullest lives with dignity and equity.

Please bring these individually wrapped menstrual hygiene products that meet the greatest need:

  • Sanitary pads (maxi and regular)
  • Tampons (light, regular, super)
  • Panty-liners
  • Hygiene wipes

FREE Denver-themed greeting cards for donors

As a thank you, we’re giving a FREE three-pack of blank greeting cards perfect for birthday wishes, thank you notes, or just a general day-brightening. Our in-house illustrator Morgan created these Denver-themed greeting cards featuring such Mile High icons as craft beer, the cash register building, mountains, sunshine, and a couple of true-blue public art characters you may recognize.

About Peak Period Co.

Peak Period CO. is a newly formed non-profit organization which worked closely with Period Kits Colorado established in 2019 by then Denver resident, Geoff Davis, who believes that “any person that has a period should have consistent and dependable access to the products they need when they need them, period.”

YellowDog will be collaborating with Peak Period CO. to collect and distribute hygiene products to Clayton Cares Market which provides children and families in need with a “no-cost shopping experience and the simple dignity of choosing the high-quality groceries that best fit their individual needs and cultural preferences.” Peak Period CO. assembles period kits for distribution which include one month’s worth of: maxi-pads, regular pads, panty liners and wipes.

The Clayton community – where YellowDog is located – will be the recipients of your donated items.

Thank you for your help in encouraging period positivity in the Denver community!
