Booklet printing FAQ
What is a saddle-stitched booklet?
A saddle-stitched booklet is a type of binding where the sheets are folded in half and stapled along the spine. It’s ideal for booklets with 8 to 64 pages and is a cost-effective, professional-looking option for short- to mid-length documents.
What sizes are available for booklets?
The most popular sizes include:
- 5.5″ x 8.5″ (half letter)
- 8.5″ x 11″ (standard letter)
- 6″ x 9″ or custom sizes on request
We can also accommodate portrait or landscape orientations depending on your layout.
What paper types can I use for the cover and inside pages?
We offer a variety of paper options:
- Cover: 80# or 100# cover stock (matte, gloss, or uncoated)
- Inside pages: 60# or 100# text weight stock
You can mix and match to create the right look and feel. We also offer self-cover (same paper for cover and interior) and plus-cover options (thicker cover stock).
How should I prepare my file for printing?
Files should be submitted as a multi-page PDF in page order (not as printer spreads). Be sure to include:
- 0.125” bleed on all sides
- Safe margins of at least 0.25” from the trim edge
- High-resolution images (300 DPI or higher)
Also, please note: the total page count must be divisible by 4 (e.g., 8, 12, 16, 20 pages, etc.). This is because saddle-stitched booklets are made by folding sheets in half, which creates four pages per sheet. If your page count isn’t divisible by four, you’ll need to add blank pages or adjust your layout accordingly.
What is the turnaround time for booklets?
Our standard turnaround time is 5–7 business days, depending on your quantity and specifications. Rush service is available—just let us know your timeline and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
