YellowDog provides print, design, and branding solutions to hundreds of businesses, large and small. Whether you’re a non-profit doing more with less, a small business taking root, or a corporation on a quest to gain market share, we’re here to help you move the needle.
The YellowDog team is a hearty mix of dreamers, doers, and makers. Between us, we have the unleashed creativity, number-crunching strategic thinking, and code-slinging tech skills to send your brand soaring to new heights. So. What’s your big idea?
We treat every client like you’re our only client. Delivering sky-high creative services without the sky-high price tag is just how we do things. Think of us as the friend you have on speed-dial to bounce ideas off, problem-solve, or get things done. We team up for the long haul, helping you through “oh shit” moments, believing in you, giving a shit, and celebrating your wins.
We’re a family-owned and operated business with our doors open in Denver since 2005. How did it all begin? Here’s a rough timeline.
1997
Dan Mulligan meets Jenny Freece at a BBQ Jenny was hosting. When they were introduced, Jenny handed Dan some grilling utensils and said, “Can you help?” They have been working together ever since.
1998
It’s getting serious. Dan and Jenny pull the trigger on adopting a puppy together. She is a yellow lab named Maggie.
2001
Cruising toward the major life milestones, there has been moving and working and traveling and now marriage.
2005
Daughter #1 is born, and daughter #2 is on the way. For maximum chaos, an idea is proposed. “Let’s start a business. It will be called YellowDog Printing & Graphics.”
See what we did there?
2006
We hire our first two employees. Bossing is hard, but we must be doing something right. Matt is still with YellowDog today!
2010
Our client base is growing as fast as our kids. We’re working with some great Colorado businesses and nonprofits. We ♥ our customers!
2014
Our beloved yellow labrador Maggie crosses the rainbow bridge. YellowDog 2.0 is born. Welcome Lucy, our new yellow mascot.
2015
With all of the online competition out there, how can YellowDog Printing be different? Turns out it’s good ol’ fashioned customer service. We hire account managers to be a single point of contact for every YellowDog client, no matter the company size or size of the order.
2017
Our best clients are asking for more than just print. They want one-stop-shopping for design, marketing, and printing. Well, ask and you shall receive. yellowDogLab is open for business.
2018
Turns out customer service and one-stop-shopping was a winning combination. YellowDog has 13 employees, yellowDogLab has 5. We’ve outgrown our space! We double our square footage by building out an awesome warehouse studio east of Denver’s RiNo Arts District.
2019
Is just too darn confusing. It’s same great company, same great people but too many names. In preparation for our move, we decide to rebrand. We are now YellowDog. Just like our pups, we are always happy to see you.
2019
We’ve hauled our giant printers over to our new studio. We’ve launched our new YellowDog logo and branding. Now it’s time to celebrate! We throw a big housewarming party at our new location.
2020
Just when we’re celebrating big milestones, winning awards, and growing fast, COVID-19 strikes and takes a big bite out of business. Nevertheless, we rally to keep employees on board and keep delivering sky-high design, print, and marketing services.
2021
We’re growing our team to its biggest-ever size to meet rebounding demand. True to form, we gained woman-owned business (M/WBE) certification through the City of Denver and Environmental Leadership Program Bronze status through the State of Colorado.
Purpose powers everything we do. Over the years, three core values have emerged to guide our decisions and company culture. Today, these core values are codified as an awesome large-scale mural on our wall that we illustrated and installed ourselves.
Curiosity. We ask tons of questions, fall down rabbit holes of idea exploration, and challenge ourselves to grow our talents and experiences. We believe that understanding our customers helps them to understand theirs.
Creativity. This is a given for a design and marketing studio, obviously. But creativity is more than what we bring to work. It’s who we are and how we’re wired. Almost every YellowDogger has some kind of artsy, craftsy, or creative passion.
Community. We love our Denver home. We are inclusive, open and actively engaged with the local community. Staff volunteer days, in-kind giving, community partnerships, and a 15% discount for nonprofit organizations are just a few of the ways we give back.
